The Inner:City

Where streets and squares are named after women and the future bears their signature.

Women Power

In this 'workflow' issue, we allow ourselves a special play on words: although aspern Seestadt is located on the edge of Vienna, it puts strong women at the center, making it an attractive 'Inner:City'.

Women Power

In this 'workflow' issue, we allow ourselves a special play on words: although aspern Seestadt is located on the edge of Vienna, it puts strong women at the center, making it an attractive 'Inner:City'.

In Seestadt, streets and squares are named after notable women from science, art, sports, and society. Petra Unger explains in this issue of the business magazine workflow why street names are not just points of orientation, but also collective memory and symbols of our values. Also featured in the magazine is the project “Let’s Netz”, which playfully teaches children and young people about energy, sustainability, and technical professions to spark interest, especially among girls and young women. Seestadt thus becomes a real-life laboratory for research and education, making sustainable energy supply visible and presenting female role models in technical careers. We also introduce ‘makers’ in Seestadt: Claudia Kaufmann, project manager for the construction of Takeda’s “Laboratory of the Future”, Ingrid Soulier, who is building “Lil-y am See”, and Andrea Gödel, responsible for “PIER05”. Sylvia Schlagintweit and Catherine Chuchylina talk about founding businesses. And as always, there are event tips and exciting facts about Seestadt.

“Seestadt shows how urban spaces can be designed as places of remembrance and inspiration – for a society that actively lives diversity and equality.”

Ingrid Spörk, Leitung Marketing, Kommunikation & PR Mediensprecherin
