Center of Donaustadt with regional appeal

Seestadt is developing along the U2 into a new regional center of Donaustadt. It connects the city and its surroundings, creates jobs, and strengthens the region – without weakening existing centers.

Strong business location with regional added value

From the very beginning, Wien 3420 has focused on closely integrating Seestadt with its neighborhood and connecting it to the surrounding area. The goal is a vibrant business location within the Vienna-Bratislava metropolitan region that retains purchasing power and reduces motorized traffic.

High-quality infrastructure, a targeted industry mix, and quality businesses form the foundation. Today, the offerings in the first three quarters already attract visitors from outside – not least thanks to the managed shopping street operated by Wien 3420 and SES Spar European Shopping Centers since 2015.

The economic foundation is complemented by a growing range of cultural and sports activities, further strengthening the district as an attractive place to live and work.

Transport hub with strong connections

New routes and connections strengthen Seestadt’s role as an urban hub. Pedestrian and cycle paths link the quarters with the surrounding area. Seven bus lines, two subway stations, and tram line 27 connect the district even more closely within Vienna and to the surrounding region.

Seestadt is also moving closer internationally: The electrification of the railway to Bratislava shortens travel time to 41 minutes – an opportunity for new collaborations, for example in research and production through the CLC East of EIT Manufacturing based in Seestadt.
