With aspern mobil, Seestadt is pioneering an innovative mobility concept that makes routes short, safe, and environmentally friendly. As a 15-minute city, shopping, doctor’s visits, or leisure activities are quickly and conveniently accessible. At the same time, U2, tram, bus, and S-Bahn connections ensure optimal links to the city center and the region. The offer is complemented by sharing services, safe cycle paths, and collective garages that keep public space largely car-free – for the highest quality of life and sustainable mobility with a future.

Seestadt is perfectly integrated into Vienna’s public transport network: the U2 takes you directly to the city center in just 25 minutes. Buses and the S-Bahn provide quick connections to key hubs. The new tram line 27 now even connects Seestadt with Strebersdorf – a popular Viennese wine district. Just hop on and enjoy a relaxed ride.
Public Transport Network
Underground, bus, S-Bahn, and now also the first of two tram lines connect Seestadt quickly and easily with Vienna and the region.
For the last stretch from the U2 station Aspern Nord to the neighborhood and back, there is the WienMobil Hüpfer – flexible, climate-friendly, and easily bookable via app.
Seestadt – Praterstern (U1/S) – Schottenring (U4) – Volkstheater (U3) – Karlsplatz (U1/U4)
With the U2, you can reach the city center quickly: via the railway hubs Aspern Nord, Stadlau, and Praterstern, the U2 takes you to Karlsplatz in 30 minutes. Along the U2, there are important transfer stations to public transport lines for all districts of Vienna. From 2030, the U2 will even run to Matzleinsdorfer Platz.
During the week, the U2 runs every 5 minutes at peak times. On weekends, the intervals are longer, but it also runs at night.
Aspern Nord (S-Bahn, U2) – Kagraner Platz (U1) – Floridsdorf (S-Bahn, U6) – Strebersdorf
Line 27 forms a new tangential axis of public transport in Floridsdorf and Donaustadt, connecting many important destinations.
Seestadt (U2) – Aspernstraße (U2)
Line 84A operates between the U2 station Seestadt and Aspernstraße (U2), serving numerous stops in Seestadt. It also ensures that even when the U2 terminates at Aspernstraße, there is a direct connection back to Seestadt.
Seestadt (U2) – Essling, Stadtgrenze
The 88A offers a direct connection to the center of Essling.
Seestadt (U2) – Invalidensiedlung
Line 89A runs from the U2 station Seestadt eastwards and then outside Seestadt northwards to Invalidensiedlung.
Aspern Nord – Großer Biberhaufen
Line 95A operates between Großer Biberhaufen and Aspern Nord (S-Bahn/U2), serving Mühlwasser, Hirschstetten, and Breitenlee, among others.

Line 99A runs from the U2 station Seestadt eastwards and then outside Seestadt southwards via the Esslinger cemetery to the
school in Essling.

Line 99B runs from the U2 station Seestadt eastwards and then outside Seestadt southwards to the school in Essling. The route differs slightly from line 99A.
Seestadt (U2) – Essling, Wegmayersiedlung
The 88B is perfect for a trip to the Lobau. From the “Kaposigasse” stop, it’s just a few steps to the entrance to the national park at Esslinger Furt.
Aspern Nord (U2) – Simmering (U3) – Hauptbahnhof (U1/Train) – Meidling (U6) – Hütteldorf (U4) – Unterpurkersdorf
The S-Bahn connection takes you across Vienna: 18 minutes to the U3 in Simmering and 23 minutes to the main station. Most S80 connections continue as S3 to Meidling. To Hütteldorf, a replacement bus operates – weekdays every 15 minutes during the day, then and on weekends every 30 minutes. (until autumn 2027; as of: 09 / 2026)
Marchegg – Aspern Nord (U2) – Simmering (U3) – Hauptbahnhof (U1/Train)
The regional trains of line 910 connect Seestadt via the Wien Aspern Nord station directly with Wien Simmering and Wien Hauptbahnhof. There is also a direct cross-border rail connection to Bratislava via Marchegg. Since October 2025, trains have been running regularly again across the Austrian-Slovak border.
Siegesplatz – Seestadt
The N84 on-demand shared taxi is available, providing a direct connection at Siegesplatz to the night bus N26. The taxi can be ordered 30 minutes before arrival at Siegesplatz by calling (01) 7909424-84 and takes passengers to Seestadt at no extra charge with a regular public transport ticket.
The line for night owls: Even on nights without night underground service, Seestadt is accessible with the N84 on-demand shared taxi, with a direct connection at Siegesplatz to/from the night bus N26.
Simply order the N84 30 minutes before arrival at Siegesplatz by calling (01) 7909424-84 and you will be chauffeured to Seestadt at no extra charge with a regular public transport ticket.
Getting around by bike
Seestadt is a true paradise for cyclists: wide paths, little car traffic, and a dense cycling network ensure comfortable and safe cycling. For spontaneous trips, bikes and e-cargo bikes are available at eight WienMobil stations, which can be flexibly rented and returned. The offer is complemented by free “Grätzelräder” and wheelchairs. Secure storage rooms in residential buildings make cycling even more practical.

Seestadt offers numerous ways to use a bike flexibly – from rentals to special cargo bikes to barrier-free wheelchair bikes.
WienMobil Rad enables flexible and sustainable mobility in Seestadt. Bicycles and e-cargo bikes can be easily rented and returned at several stations – both in Seestadt and throughout Vienna.

In Seestadt, a wheelchair bike is available for people in wheelchairs and their companions to rent. The special bike from VanRaambikes is equipped with an electric motor for pedal assistance and was funded by the neighborhood budget. The bike can be borrowed at the day center at Seebogen from Jugend am Werk (Ilse-Buck-Straße 18).
Across Vienna, cargo bikes known as “Grätzelräder” are available for free use. Three cargo bikes can be rented at the Seestadt district management: Urban Arrow and Bakfiets with or without electric drive. With a cargo bike, loads of up to 100 kg can be transported, and certain models are also suitable for carrying up to four children.
There are two specialist shops for buying and servicing bicycles in Seestadt. Dr. Bike offers, among other things, a “Schlauchomat” in front of the Seestadt underground station, where bicycle tubes can be purchased around the clock. At United in Cycling, you will find not only classic bicycles but also cargo bikes, trailers for children or luggage, and suitable accessories – plus a children’s bike subscription is offered.
By car in Seestadt
Those travelling by car will also find suitable options in Seestadt. Car sharing stations offer a flexible alternative to owning a vehicle – without fixed costs or maintenance. Several providers make it easy to stay mobile at any time. For those using their own car, collective garages are available close to residential buildings. There are spaces for long-term and short-term rental as well as numerous e-charging stations. The advantage: public space remains largely car-free, creating more room for pedestrians and cyclists.
