The popular pop-up bar right by the lake brings a holiday vibe to Seepark for the third year in a row.
With the season opening this weekend, Tschau Tschau Seestadt invites residents and visitors to enjoy the warm days right on the lakeshore. The bar is open all summer long in good weather, Monday to Friday from 3 pm to 9 pm, and on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from 1 pm to 9 pm. Tschau Tschau Seestadt brings a relaxed atmosphere, snacks, and refreshing drinks to Seepark, creating a beach vibe and has become a popular part of the district as well as the most exotic tenant in Austria’s first managed shopping street.
Gernot Jung, manager of the aspern Seestadt shopping street company, didn’t miss the chance to toast the new season with restaurateur and Tschau Tschau Seestadt operator Chris Schilcher: “We are delighted that Tschau Tschau has become a real success story. The location right by the water is perfect for a bar, and the relaxed vibe of Tschau Tschau fits Seestadt perfectly. For the managed shopping street, the pop-up bar is the ideal addition to the Seestadt shops and restaurants.”
Chris Schilcher, Vienna scene restaurateur, and Franz Wogowitsch, both operators of Tschau Tschau Seestadt: “The atmosphere here is unique in Vienna: Whether for a relaxed after-work drink, to kick off the weekend, or as a refreshing break after a swim in the lake – everyone can find their well-deserved time out here. And not just our guests, we as the Tschau Tschau crew also love the location right by the lake. There’s always a chance to cool off in the water!”
Gastronomy and culture – a diverse offering in Seestadt
Around asperner See, summer brings a wide range of events and cultural programs to join and explore, which can also be enjoyed as a guest at the laid-back Tschau Tschau Seestadt bar.
The season kicks off with the Seestadt Triathlon on May 29 and 30. From June 8 to July 7, Public Moves by ImPulsTanz invites everyone to free dance classes right on the Seestadt promenade (U2 Seestadt station). Afterwards, the location becomes the hub of an international land art festival. On August 31, the Gutes aus der Seestadt association invites everyone to the 9th street festival in Seestadt.
This summer’s Seestadt gastro highlights, alongside Tschau Tschau Seestadt, also include the recently opened Dönerista restaurant in Seeparkquartier. The Mazzucco Market recently started its second year – every Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, you can discover regional delicacies. Two more new gastro openings are planned for 2024. Martin Hesik, managing director of aspern Seestadt Einkaufsstraßen GmbH and sales manager of Seestadt development company Wien 3420, emphasizes the importance of such events and new gastro offerings for the location: “Seestadt is growing, and with it the range of meeting places and leisure activities. Especially in summer, our district offers a holiday feeling not only for residents but also for visitors. Our local economy plays a key role in this.”
