Wien 3420 aspern Development AG is starting with a new team structure and two new managing directors in its subsidiaries Einkaufsstraßen GmbH and Umwelt und Baulog GmbH in aspern Seestadt.
After the realignment of the management board in 2023, when energy expert Robert Grüneis joined long-standing CEO Gerhard Schuster at the start of the year, the development company in aspern Seestadt has expanded its leadership team.
Peter Hinterkörner, who has been part of the Wien 3420 AG team since 2008 and, as a trained architect, coordinates urban development in Seestadt, has taken over the management of the Planning and Quality Management division. The six-person planning team is responsible for urban development and architecture, open space and mobility planning, climate protection, climate resilience and resource conservation, as well as digital data management. In addition, Hinterkörner, who is also responsible for the multidisciplinary aspern advisory board, has been granted power of attorney for Wien 3420 AG.
The six-person communications team is led by Ingrid Spörk. With the company since 2018, the experienced communications manager and her team cover PR, marketing & communications, events, visitor management, as well as temporary uses and sponsorship. She also acts as media spokesperson for Wien 3420 and Seestadt. She already gained Seestadt experience from 2008 to 2015 as head of the agency team that supported Seestadt from its brand development onwards.
Wien 3420 CEO Gerhard Schuster sees the new structure as the logical next step for the development company. “In addition to the proven professional expertise of Peter Hinterkörner and Ingrid Spörk, their leadership qualities were decisive for the decision. Last year, we were able to welcome several new team members who integrated excellently in a very short time and are a great asset. This is due in no small part to the commitment of the heads of the planning and communications divisions.”
New managing directors at the subsidiaries
Martin Hesik has been responsible for sales at Wien 3420 AG since 2017. In autumn 2023, Hesik also joined the management of aspern Seestadt Einkaufsstraßen GmbH, which Wien 3420 AG founded in 2014 as a joint venture with SES Spar European Shopping Centers. SES is responsible for the concept and management of the retail spaces. Alexander Eck, co-managing director of the Einkaufsstraßen company and CDO at SES, says: “After several years of collaboration, I am pleased that with Martin Hesik we have a highly effective professional with city management experience on the board. Together, we will continue the success story of developing Seestadt’s retail and gastronomy offerings.” Hesik is a trained spatial planner with an MBA in Innovation Management & Entrepreneurship and, since 2023, a certified real estate trustee.
With Roman Koselsky, Wien 3420 Umwelt und Baulog GmbH is relying on a Seestadt veteran. Since 1 January 2024, he has been managing the company together with Wien 3420 board member Robert Grüneis. Responsible for the technical infrastructure during the construction of Seestadt since 2007, Koselsky has not only been in charge of civil engineering in line with urban and road construction environmental impact assessments, but has also played a key role in developing the “intelligent” construction site. This concept, which aims for maximum environmental and resident protection as well as smart mass management, has already been successfully exported and, for example, coordinated by Wien 3420 Umwelt und Baulog GmbH for the Berresgasse urban development project.
“With the implementation of ESG and the EU taxonomy or the Vienna Climate Roadmap, important strategic and logistical decisions are coming up for our major aspern Seestadt project, where we continue to coordinate countless projects. With civil engineer Roman Koselsky, we have an extremely experienced leader on board who literally knows every stone in Seestadt—as well as the economic framework of the construction industry,” says Wien 3420 board member Robert Grüneis.
