Festival Summer in aspern Seestadt

Late summer in aspern Seestadt is all about community, culture, and the joy of life. Several events invite you to discover, enjoy, and take part. The Seestadt Street Festival on August 29 and the Sportfest Donaustadt on September 6, both organized by the association “Gutes aus der Seestadt”, bring people from across the district and beyond together – right in the heart of one of Vienna’s liveliest neighborhoods. Seestadt also offers a diverse arts and culture program. Above all, the SEE:ART Festival provides four weeks to explore Seestadt’s vibrant cultural scene. Additional cultural enjoyment is promised by the events of the first do:now.stadt festival, which will also make a stop in Seestadt with guests like Anne Bennent, Otto Lechner, and Robert Menasse.

Colorful Togetherness at the 10th Seestadt Street Festival

On Friday, August 29, the Seeparkquartier in Seestadt transforms into a lively festival mile. From 12:00 p.m., local businesses, creative initiatives, and dedicated associations present their offerings – from culinary delights and crafts to music and children’s programs. Street artists, live bands, and numerous activity stations invite you to stroll and linger. As part of the “Long Night of Vienna’s Markets,” the Mazzucco Market stalls will also be open until 11:00 p.m. The grand finale of the street festival is the opening concert of the do:now.stadt Festival 2025 by “VERETER & Die Woarmen Semmeln” at 8:00 p.m. in the VHS Kulturgarage. The Seestadt Street Festival is being organized for the third time by the business network “Gutes aus der Seestadt”.

Sportfest with Celebrities and Dancing with Chris Lachmuth in the Park

On Saturday, September 6, Seestadt is all about movement. After the 9th Seestadt Run in the morning, the first Sportfest Donaustadt will get people of all ages moving and showcase the diversity of Donaustadt’s sports clubs. More than 25 clubs and organizations will present their activities – from children’s gymnastics to martial arts, from niche to trending sports, from rowing on the lake to activities for people with disabilities. There will be opportunities to join in with trial training sessions and mini-competitions. A colorful supporting program brings music and interviews with Austrian sports celebrities such as snowboard world champion Heidi Neururer, football legend Michael Konsel, long-time handball national player Roland Schlinger, and multiple rowing world champion Christoph Schmölzer to the stage. The lively moderation and dance sessions are led by dance professional Chris Lachmuth, who, together with Radio Wien, will provide the right rhythm. At 7:30 p.m., another highlight of the do:now.stadt festival is on the program in the VHS Kulturgarage: The concert by the Vienna Groove Orchestra with Miriam Fussenegger and Lukas Spisser.

Art and Culture Around the Asperner Lake

The SEE:ART Festival, initiated by LLLLLL, Association for Contemporary Art, in cooperation with Atelier Michael Farkashazy, Donaustadt.Kultur and Wien 3420, presents contemporary art, performances, workshops, and readings in studios, ateliers, and public spaces starting August 22.
The opening takes place on August 22 from 4:00 p.m. at the Info-Bar-Symposium (U2 Station Seestadt – Seestadtpromenade exit).

By the way: Until August 23, the Seestadt Stars will bring live music to the lake every Thursday to Sunday on the neighborhood terrace right next door.
