We are delighted to welcome two new colleagues to our district management team! The team supports both new and existing residents in Seestadt. Since 2014, the team has been organizing meetings and fostering exchange among a wide range of people and organizations. The motto of the district management is “Seestadt is what we make of it together!” With great enthusiasm and fresh ideas, the two new team members, Lena Mally and Sara Hammer, are joining district management. Sara is highly knowledgeable in the field of architecture. Her experience helps us further adapt our working environment to the needs of residents. Lena is an expert in community participation. She loves the diversity of our neighborhood. After her parental leave, Lena is returning to Seestadt. With Sara and Lena, our team is even stronger, and we look forward to developing new ideas together. Let’s work together to create a vibrant and connected neighborhood!

Seestadt as a Pioneer of the Sponge City Principle

Seestadt relies on the sponge city principle: Along the streets and paths in the northern part of the district, underground reservoirs collect rainwater. This reduces flooding during heavy rainfall, supplies trees with water, and creates a pleasant microclimate – a sustainable contribution to a livable district. Rain gardens in the parks also ensure that valuable rainwater seeps into the ground instead of disappearing into the sewer system.
